From 1 July 2026, a kilometre charge for lorries will apply in the Netherlands. This may affect your transport costs, route planning and logistical preparations.

What will change?

The lorry charge is calculated based on the number of kilometres driven on designated Dutch roads. This applies to both domestic and foreign lorry owners when they carry out transport operations within or through the Netherlands.

The measure may have implications for transport rates, planning and cost calculations from 1 July 2026.
