Response to strike
Employers in the ports on Canada's west coast, united in the BC Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA), imposed a near-complete lockout on Monday evening in response to strike action by dock workers that started in the morning. According to the employers, the lockout should 'facilitate a safe and orderly winding down of work'.
