Given the scale of our operations we are aware of the environmental impact across our logistic chain. We are committed to promote greater environmental stewardship and continue to explore environmentally friendly modes of operations for our business. Primarily focusing on greenhouse gas emissions and resource management, we are sensitive to our responsibility of climate protection. The company is to abide by this environmental policy to achieve our goal of delivering sustainable value to our customers, our people and the environment.

Our primary environmental objectives.

Compliance:

• Provide information, training opportunities and initiatives to engage our employees to take part in environmental protection.
• Comply with all relevant and applicable environmental laws, regulations and industry requirements.
• Work closely with our customers, suppliers, business partners and regulators to establish a platform for environmentally sustainable practices.
• Procure supplies and services from vendors who adopt environmentally responsible business practices.
• Collaborate with and encourage our customers and suppliers to minimize their carbon footprint.
• Monitor our progress in managing environmental issues and reporting performance to our business partners.

Operational efficiency:

Base our operations on key principles of international environmental management systems, continually review, reinvent plans and measures to enhance the efficiency of our operations and infrastructures thereby monitoring the evolving risks to the climate change, commit to resource efficiency by means of monitoring and optimizing the use of resources e.g., electricity, fuel, water, paper and packaging materials at our facilities, reducing, recycling and reusing paper and focus on paperless processes by IT solutions.

Building efficiency:

Commit to create a cleaner and greener environment through continuous efforts dedicated to energy efficiency.
Explore and utilize alternative energy sources.

Logistics efficiency:

Optimizing multimodal and trimodal logistics solutions to reduce carbon footprint. Encouraging use of low sulfur ocean vessels and inland barges. Sharing knowledge how to optimize sustainable logistic solutions.

Becoming greener and cleaner:

One way in which we’re achieving this is by applying new technologies and practices to reduce our consumption of non-renewable resources such as diesel, gas and electricity and reduce their associated greenhouse gas emissions. In the longer term we’ll move to renewable energy sources as they become viable. We’re also keenly aware that TOP Trans Ocean Pacific forwarding is a key component of our customers’ and suppliers’ supply chains. Our growing scale and global focus, combined with our ability to deliver integrated modal solutions such as barge and rail transportation, mean that we have a significant role to play working with our clients to develop smarter, more sustainable solutions to reduce their carbon footprints and other key environmental impacts.

Policy Statement Communication and Review

This policy statement is communicated to all interested parties upon request. To our employees the policy is to be communicated via internal communication channels. All departments within Trans Ocean Pacific forwarding BV are expected to align their policies and operations with the corporate policy.
